Astoria Queens
Astoria is a neighborhood in the New York City borough of Queens. It is named after John Jacob Astor, who made his fortune in fur trading and real estate. The neighborhood has been growing since it was first settled in the early 1800s.

1. Transportation
There are plenty of ways to get around in Astoria—by foot, by bike, or by bus. There are also several subway lines that connect you to all corners of NYC. The neighborhood is accessible by the N subway line, which runs north-south through the neighborhood. The Q19 bus also runs through Astoria, and the M60 bus runs east-west.
2. Parks
Astoria has several parks within its borders! These parks offer a variety of experiences from quiet spots for reading and relaxing to sports fields where you can play basketball or soccer with friends. Parks include Socrates Sculpture Park, which features contemporary art installations; Ditmars Park, which is home to a public pool and playground; and Astoria Park, which has an outdoor pool and playground.
3. Schools
Astoria has some great public schools as well as several private options if you’re looking for something different for your kids’ education.
4. Restaurants and shops galore!
You’ll find everything from fast food joints (because who doesn’t love a good burger?) to fine dining restaurants with amazing food and drink options at every price point—and then some! There are also plenty of boutique shops.
