Con Ed Bills may be going up Soon

Under a preliminary agreement between the state Department of Public Service, Con Ed and other stakeholders, the utility company would be able to increase its prices to pay for programs and infrastructure needed to deliver electricity and gas.

If the state Public Service Commission (PSC) approves the proposal, the average bill would rise about 12% over three years for residential electric customers in all five boroughs and Westchester, and over 20% over three years for residential gas customers in The Bronx, Manhattan and northern Queens. The new rates would be effective June 1. To read more about these proposed changes, check out this article from The City

Developers Close On $47.5M Loan To Renovate Historic Jacob Riis Park Bathhouse

Have you been to Jacob Riis Park Beach lately? It’s a nice beach with tons of parking and a few concession stands, but according to a new report from Yimby, developers CBSK, Brooklyn Bazaar, and Aulder Capital plan to restore the 40,000 sq ft bathhouse to its former glory. Activations will include a new 28-key hotel, a rooftop restaurant, ground-floor eateries, a beachfront bar, an indoor pool, flexible event spaces, and retailers stocking beach supplies including sunblock and towels. Sounds pretty interesting and it will most likely make this Beach in the Rockaways even more popular. Click here to read more about the new development plans.
